Exhilarating moment
Late afternoon in Jan 1989, examiners announced results of our postgraduate exam, I was called in first and offered residency at Tata Memorial Hospital by Dr Ashok Mehta, onco-surgeon. Our head of surgery Prof Ansari was overwhelmed too.
In 1985-86, after multiple surgeries for brain hematoma at Bombay Hospital, Dr S N Bhagwati, neuro-surgeon declared that my father is fit to be discharged. Rollar coaster of emotions panting up for weeks just swelled over.
On my 50th birthday celebration, when asked to share her thoughts, my daughter’s impromptu monologue on our relationship is one of the high points of my life.
